Hymn Story: The Word of God Shall Endure Forever!

I wish everyone a good Lord's Day tomorrow.

I am posting a powerful hymn arranged by Faye Lopez in 2006 but the words were written by the great reformer, Martin Luther around 1540. THis hymn begins with with the chorus and then repeats the chorus after each verse.

The hymn is based upon Isaiah 40:6-8. (See also Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:25; Isaiah 55:11).

Isaiah 40:6-8  The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: 7  The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. 8  The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Chorus:
God's Word shall stand forever,
The Bible shall prevail;
God's Word shall stand forever,
His truth can never, never fail.

Verse 1
For feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God,
Naught else is worth believing.

Chorus

Verse 2
Tho' all my heart should feel condemned
For want of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart
Whose Word cannot be broken.

Chorus

Verse 3
I'll trust in God's unchanging Word
'Til soul and body sever:
For tho' all things shall pass away,
His Word shall stand forever.

Chorus
