The Parables of Jesus: Pt. 12 The Parable of the Talents.

Good morning... Psalm 67: 1-3 God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah;  That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.  Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. We have yet another parable that shows both the Church and the nation Israel what we ought to be doing until Christ returns.   Matthew 25:14-30 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. 16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of t

Good morning to all of our Readers. The growing impact of COVID-19 globally in so many nations is certainly cause for concern as our lives are changed or disrupted in various ways.  I want to share some thoughts with each of you and then ask you to join in prayer each day regarding our very real concerns and for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.  First, our Great God is not taken by surprise. We can rest assured that God is not taken by surprise over all the things that are happening in the world today. He knows the beginning from the ending of all things. He is always working out His eternal purposes on this earth.  Psalm 147:5  Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.  Second, our Great God has a plan and purpose for all things including COVID-19. God can use all things for good in our lives and to advance His kingdom. History tells us that the times when the New Testament church experienced an outpouring of revival a

The Parables of Jesus: Pt. 11 Ten virgins and Christ's return

Good Morning.... He only is my rock and salvation; He is my defence; I shall not be moved.  Psalm 62:6,7 The text below from the Apostle Paul shows us that when the Day of the Lord comes Christ is coming to the earth with His bride, the church. 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13  And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13  To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.  Matthew 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the brideg

The Parables of Jesus: Pt. 10 Ten virgins & Christ's return.

Image
Good morning... The text below describes the Judgement Day of the Lord where Christ returns to the earth to establish His kingdom and rule on this earth. The rapture of the Church has already happened by the time that the Day of the Lord arrives. This helps us understand the parable ot the 10 virgins who represent the nation Israel and what they should be doing until their King comes. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-4  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.  2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  The parable of 10 virgins. Matthew 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the br

Introduction to Parable of Ten Virgins Matthew 25

Good evening to our Readers.... I wanted to give you a preview of the next 2 posts that will discuss the parable Jesus gave about the 19 virgins.  The reason I want to do this is to give you the right frame of mind for thinking about this parable and to eliminate any possible confusion that might arise. In the parable, the second coming of Jesus Christ is in view. However, I realize that some, perhaps many of you may not be familiar with certain aspects of His coming.  For example His second coming is divided into 2 parts. In the first part, Christ will come in the clouds and call His bride the Church home. This takes place in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 & 1 Corinthians 15) In the summer of 2019 I posted some lessons teaching about the first coming of Christ in the air to call His bride, the Church home to heaven. The Lord will come in the clouds and stop there as the dead in Christ rise first.  All other believers alive at that moment will be caught up in the

The Parables of Jesus: Pt. 9 A Wedding supper requiring proper attire.

Good morning... This is a parable we see lived out today.  We may have invited family, friends, co-workers to our homes for a Bible study or to our local churches and they may have come up with every excuse you can think of.   On the other hand, some people that you might not think would come have a desire to attend a church service or a Bible study.  God is still graciously inviting people to come and dine.   Invite these friends, family members, or co-workers to watch your church on you tube or on this blog until things get back to normal or a new normal for us. Parable of those bidden to a wedding not coming.  Matthew 22:1-14 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have pre

Good morning.... 1 John 5:5,10  "Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself; he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son." Matthew 21:33-41 33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among

Good Evening to all of our Readers.... I wanted to bless you by posting this video of my Pastor preaching on the first Sunday of the month. For about 2 years we dedicated the firs Sunday of the month to studying more about worship and its impact upon our souls. We wanted to learn more about how whole hearted worship brings honor and glory to Jehovah. Typically, these sermons have hymns sung at various points while Pastor Mike is preaching. Although the sound system we have is not really set up to capture congregational singing or specials, you will hear enough I think to have your soul encouraged through worship and the Word being preached.  May our Lord richly bless you this evening. Praying for God's will to be accomplished in this crisis

Good morning for the second time today.... I want to encourage all our Readers about the upending of the status quo in many lives around the world. I find it helpful to keep heavens perspective before us. The first response of believers in times of national crisis is to look to our Great God. There is no hope or help in anything else that is in the world or of man, no matter how well intentioned their motivation may be. Deuteronomy 33:26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help and in his excellency on the sky. 27 The e ternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. 28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is th

The parables of Jesus: Pt. 7 2 Sons represent 2 responses to the Gospel

Good morning... This morning we will see a couple of examples of different groups of people that represent how we were before we became believers in Jesus Christ. Acts 16:31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be save, and thy house." John 12:44 "Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me." The Parable of the Two Sons Matthew 21:28-32  But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.  29  He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.  30  And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.  31  Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.  32  For John came unto you in the way of righ
