The Plot to Kill Jesus Mark 14:1  After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.  Mar 14:2  But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.  Jesus Anointed at Bethany Mar 14:3  And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.  Mar 14:4  And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?  Mar 14:5  For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. Matthew's Account Of The Suffering, Death, Burial And Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Today, I am giving us Matthew's account of the week of Jesus' Passion.  I suggest reading slowly through these texts and letting all the events that transpired, sink into our hearts.  This is Matthew's Holy Spirit guided, eyewitness account of Christ's sufferings, death, burial, and resurrection.  The theme is that Jesus suffered for us, He died for us, and He rose from the dead for us.  Jesus died because the wages of sin is death, and He died in our place, as God's perfect Lamb.  I also suggest reading Isaiah 53 as this is a prophecy about Christ's sufferings, followed by His glory. And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.  Mat 26:16  And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.  The Passover with the Di...

"His son" represents the Lord Jesus Christ, ...
