A Special Call to Prayer for all Born Again Christians Everywhere!

Good morning to all of our Readers.

COVID-19 mortality twice as high for men in Italy as women - ABC News

The growing impact of COVID-19 globally in so many nations is certainly cause for concern as our lives are changed or disrupted in various ways.

I want to share some thoughts with each of you and then ask you to join in prayer each day regarding our very real concerns and for God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

First, our Great God is not taken by surprise.

We can rest assured that God is not taken by surprise over all the things that are happening in the world today. He knows the beginning from the ending of all things. He is always working out His eternal purposes on this earth.

Psalm 147:5  Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Second, our Great God has a plan and purpose for all things including COVID-19.

God can use all things for good in our lives and to advance His kingdom. History tells us that the times when the New Testament church experienced an outpouring of revival and organic growth are times of hardship and persecution.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Third, our Great God will never leave us or forget about us.

God has not lost sight of His children. He promised never to leave or forsake the believer. His Spirit resides in the heart of every believer and connects us with each other and with Christ. Jehovah's abiding presence with each born again Christian is assured.

1 Kings 8:57  The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

Last, our Great God wants us to pray for each other in times of need.

Last, God will hear the prayers of the child of God and He wants us to pray for each others needs. When we pray we should rejoice because our Lord Jesus opened a direct way to the Father's throne in heaven so that we can pray for grace, mercy and help in times of need. (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer is to be an ongoing activity each day for the Christian. We are to give thanks in all things, even during this time of serious health concerns. This is God's will for us.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  Rejoice evermore. 17  Pray without ceasing. 18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Prayer needs to Ponder...

  • There are 16 nations listed with the highest outbreak of COVID-19. Our blog has Readers in 10 of those affected countries. We need to pray for each other.
  • Pray that our Lord will comfort and sustain believers & their families who have contracted the virus.
  • Pray that our Lord will grant many opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Pray that our Lord will turn the hearts of all men away from the world's wicked ways and toward the eternal things of God.
  • Pray for all gospel preaching churches in the world today because we cannot meet to worship and hear our Pastors preach.
  • Pray that the Lord provides each church with alternate ways to get the Word of God out to their communities.
These are serious and sobering times. The believer's hope is in the unseen things of God and we are to seek those things that are above rather than seeking the things of this world.

Please pray hard for one another each and every day during this time of global crisis. We have an active enemy and Satan surely thinks he has gotten a victory as church after church is unable to meet and worship, and pulpits around the world go silent due to stay at home orders.

Yet, God has provided other platforms that we can use such as this blog, social media posts and live-streams on YouTube. The Word of God is still going out and it will do whatever God wants it to do.

Churches without technology resources can still share the Word of God by writing letters or making phone calls. May our Lord cause each of us to walk more closely with Him and my He anoint the Word going out by His people.

May Jesus Christ be praised.
Bob
