This is a series of lessons about the good kings of Judah under whom revival occurred.

Jehoshaphat was in a good place. He recovered from the alliance he made with wicked king Ahab, and when he returned to Jerusalem, God's prophet strongly rebuked the king.

Rather than hardening his heart toward God, he heard and heeded the message.

2 Chronicles 20 begins by telling us that a massive army composed or Moabites, Ammonites and natives of Mount Seir, were advancing toward Judah.

Their purpose was to drive Judah out of the land that God gave them.

We learned that testing's or trials often follow times of revival and faithfulness to God.

Satan does not want us to worship God, He does not want us to live for God's glory, nor does he want us to share the gospel with others.

We also learned that God uses trials and afflictions for our good.

Jehoshaphat feared the formidable enemy that he faced, but he learned from his mistake of entering into an alliance with wicked King Ahab.

This time, Jehoshaphat called upon the LORD. He knew that God would hear his prayer and he knew that only God could deliver them from the enemies.

Jehoshaphat prayed what he knew was true about God and this shaped his prayer and directed his supplication.

Jehovah immediately answered the king's prayer and delivered them in a miraculous an powerful manner.

Hymn Story of "Sunshine in My Soul Today"

  Good afternoon.. I have a great hymn history to share with you today. One of the outstanding hymn writers was Eliza Hewitt. This hymn "Sunshine in My Soul Today" was written by Eliza after she suffered a serious injury. The lyrics and an excellent performance of the hymn are included. Psalm 92:1 “I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name,  O thou most High.” In 1851 Eliza Edmunds Hewitt was born, and grew to be valedictorian of her class and a school teacher in Pennsylvania.   At some point in her teaching career an unruly student struck her on the back with a piece of heavy slate.   This injury left Eliza in a heavy cast for months, confined to her room. W e will look at the synoptic gospels to gain a full picture of how Matthew 8 concludes. The Spirit of God moved these men to write a narrative that pulls back the curtain to give us a view of the unseen spiritual world. You will notice that the gospels record an inordinate amount of demon activity during Jesus' earthly ministry. This activity also carried forward through the book of Acts as the gospel spread outward from Jerusalem into the world. No doubt this heightened demonic activity was one of Satan's weapons to hinder the work of Christ.  However, in every single case the Lord Jesus imposed His will upon the demons and they submitted to Jesus' authority. In this case, Matthew, Mark and Luke recorded one of the most dramatic examples of demon possession that Jesus encountered.
