  I pray daily for our Lord to continue pouring out His blessings upon all of our Readers. I am happy to recommend a blog recently started by a good friend of mine. He aims for quiet times where a Christian can take a few minutes to slow down and reflect upon what God is saying. He prefers to remain anonymous and uses the name "Ophel" which refers to the Nethinims who were servants to the Levites and who drew near to serve God day or night. God has gifted him with a way to uses phrases that really arrest our attention such that we slow down and meditate upon what God us saying to us. As such, this is very good devotional material that can start or end our day. They English church had morning devotions called "Laud" that were intended to begin the day with praises to God and prayers to sanctify the day's activities. Matthew 24:1-2  And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.  2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.  Jesus uttered a prophetic declaration that all the massive, beautiful stones and magnificent architecture of the Temple, would be thrown down. As Jerusalem has been excavated, archaeologists uncovered a street below the temple wall, where massive stones fell and cracked the pavement below. Vespasian was the Roman emperor and his son Titus led the conquest of Jerusalem and destruction of the Temple. Matthew 23:29-32   Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,  And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.  31  Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.  32  Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.  This is the last "Woe" of condemnation and judgment Jesus pronounced against the self righteous, religious hypocrites among scribes and Pharisees. Jesus previously condemned them for religious hypocrisy because scribes and Pharisees engaged in praying, fasting, or tithing in order to be seen by others.
