Lord's Day Worship Hymn "We'll All Sing Hallelujah" November 23, 2025

Image
Good morning to all of our Readers on this Lord's Day. At my church in Ohio, our choir is singing a beautiful, uplifting song titles "We'll All Sing Hallelujah" written by Charles Wesley and arranged by Benjamin Harland. The tune is from Walker's Southern Harmony which often takes Bible truth and uses music in a minor key that causes us to reflect on our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is a song that is rich in spiritual truth and blessings for all who sing it and for those who hear. The focus us leaving our earthly trials and troubles behind as we look toward heaven and Jesus Christ calling us home. I found an excellent Christian female youth choir singing the song. Their modest attire and excellent vocalizations made it a real pleasure and blessing to my heart. It is truly joyful to see young people singing for Christ and to know that the Bible standard for music is being passed on to another generation! Thus, I wanted to share this link with you so t...

The Gospel Of Matthew Chapter 13 Part 7 The Parable of Mustard Seed And Christ's Church

Image
Matthew chapter thirteen is a treasure of truth from our Lord Jesus Christ, that teaches us about gospel ministry and the kingdom of heaven. Christ's church and kingdom are compared with a mustard grain and the tree it produces.  Matthew 13:31-32  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:  32)  Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.  This parable teaches about Christ's church and it's humble beginnings. This parable pictures a representation of the progress of the Gospel in the world  and of the growth of grace in people's hearts.  As before, the field is the world where the gospel is to be preached in all it's glory. "The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in ...

The Gospel Of Matthew Chapter 13 Part 5 Gospel Seed In Good Ground Yields Much Fruit

Image
O ur Lord Jesus Christ is the Perfect Master at using word pictures (parables) to teach us about the kingdom of God. The first major parable in this chapter is named "The Parable of the Sower and the Seed." Jesus used an agricultural scene that all His hearers would readily understand. A field must be plowed before it is ready to receive seed. Hard dirt clods must be broken up and rocks or roots must be removed. Fallow ground must be broken by plowing and prepared by removing rocks and roots. Hosea 10:12  Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. Field preparation or plowing fallow ground is always a picture of the ministry of the Spirit of God with the Word of God in the heart of man (See Jeremiah 4:3). Fallow ground is not ready to receive the good seed of gospel. It is unplowed, unproductive, hardened soil which indicates a lack of repentance for sin. Fallow...

The Gospel Of Matthew Chapter 13 Part 4 Don't Be Distracted By Worldly Cares or Lust For Wealth

Image
We are studying Matthew thirteen which contains many parables of Jesus that are meant to instruct us about the kingdom of God and gospel ministry. Thus, this material is very relevant for pastors, parents, parishioners and church leaders. Some seed fell on thorn infested ground and was quickly crowded out by thorns. Matthew 13:7  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:  We now come to the third type of soil and this one is also a bad type of soil. Remember that Jesus gave these parables to use natural things, easily understood by all people in order to teach spiritual realities. Thus, the four kinds of soil are pictures of how people respond to gospel preaching.  The wayside soil pictures a careless, inattentive hearer who cares little about the things of God. The Devil snatches away the Word of God from a wayside hearer's heart so that he cannot be converted to Christ. The second soil type is the stony places which pictures a person who see...
