Pastor Alvis Sunday Sermon September 20 2026 Enjoying The Benefits Of The Christian Sabbath
Good morning to all of our Readers...
Below is the link to Pastor Alvis' final sermon on the Christian sabbath day of rest.
He preached a total of four sermons about the sabbath day, the fourth commandment where God tells us to remember it and to keep it as a holy day dedicated to God.
Pastor Alvis led us through all of the scriptures to teach us the full history about the sabbath and the Hebrew word "sabbath" simply means "rest."
The Church in America has caved to the culture on this issue. Many pastors teach that God does not care about the sabbath day of rest any longer.
Some say that the sabbath rest is strictly a Jewish thing and not to be observed by Christ's church.
This is why Pastor Alvis took the time to lead us through the history of the sabbath day of rest from creation to the patriarchs to the giving of the law and its continuation in the New Testament.
The Ten Commandments are the fullest expression of God's righteousness and God has never removed or altered His command about keeping the sabbath day as a day of rest, reflection, reviving for His people.
The primary difference is that the Jewish people observe the sabbath on the last day of the week but the church from the very first observed Sunday as the sabbath day of rest.
I strongly recommend all who are able to view the livestream, to do so.
This strong Bible based teaching is sorely needed to wake up the people of God and to get them to quit taking a day that God set apart for Himself, and squandering it by using it as we want to use it.
I pray that Pastor Alvis' sermons will continue to make a major impact upon Christians in America and in any other place where Sunday has become just another day.
Bob
